Watt's to acquire Danone Chile


Santiago, February 9th, 2017.

Having accomplished all the pending conditions defined in the share purchase agreement signed in September 2016 in which Watt’s S.A. would acquire 100% of the shares of Danone Chile, yesterday the transaction was consummated and Danone Chile started to be part of Watt’s S.A.

Through this, Watt’s now holds all Danone Chile assets including the plant in Chillan (that will continue in operation) and the Calan trademark. Additionally it was signed a long-term License Agreement between Watt’s S.A. and Compagnie Gervaise Danone for the Activia, Danone and Danone Light brands. This means all these brands will continue to be present in the Chilean market.

This transaction is consistent with Watt’s growth strategy which consists of searching and acquiring companies and brands bringing value added potential to its portfolio. Previous’ Watt’s acquisitions have been Frutos del Maipo, Las Parcelas de Valdivia, Wasil, Regimel and Frugo, among others. This transaction will increase Watt´s sales in 12%.
